  • PAYMENT

    Full payment is required upon acceptance and return of the signed quote. The full balance is due 7 days prior to installation. We strictly will not install furniture until full payment is received.

    If for any reason the balance payment has not been transferred within 24 hours after installation, the removal of our furniture and décor items will be organised immediately, and payments will not be refundable. Payments made after installation or due to a change of mind are not refundable.

    Should the property sell prior to the contract expiry date, The Dutch Stylist reserves the right to collect the stock once the free period commences.

    DAMAGE

    All The Dutch Stylist furniture and accessories are for display purposes only and are not intended for use. Once the goods are delivered, they are outside of The Dutch Stylist’s control.

    Any damage to the goods during the hire period is the sole responsibility of the client. The client must ensure that goods are returned free of damage. Cleaning, repair and/or replacement costs apply to any product that is returned soiled or damaged. Damaged items will be invoiced accordingly.

    This includes damage to accessories or cushions left outside and damaged due to weather or sun exposure. For clarification, “client” refers to the person named on the order, not necessarily the homeowner.

    CANCELLATION POLICY

    Cancellation or Rescheduling

    1.1 The Client shall provide The Dutch Stylist with a minimum of five (5) business days’ written notice to cancel or reschedule any scheduled delivery or collection.

    1.2 In the event that cancellation or rescheduling occurs within five (5) business days of the scheduled delivery or collection date, the Client shall incur a cancellation/rescheduling fee of eight hundred dollars ($800.00).

    1.3 This fee represents a genuine pre-estimate of costs incurred by The Dutch Stylist, including but not limited to administrative time, logistics coordination, and resource allocation.

    POSTPONED DELIVERY REQUEST

    2.1 If the Client requests to postpone a delivery (where the order remains active but the delivery date is delayed) within forty-eight (48) hours of the scheduled delivery date, a postponement fee of six hundred and fifty dollars ($650.00)shall apply.

    2.2 This fee covers costs associated with short-notice handling, storage, and scheduling adjustments.

    2.3 A delay of up to 30 minutes is acceptable and will not incur a fee. However, delays over 30 minutes will incur a fee of $200.00 per hour.

    3. General

    3.1 All fees referred to in this section are exclusive of applicable taxes, unless otherwise stated.

    3.2 The Dutch Stylist reserves the right to withhold delivery or collection services until any applicable fees have been paid in full.

    3.3 For the avoidance of doubt, a postponed delivery shall not be considered a cancellation unless the Client subsequently cancels the order in its entirety, in which case clause 1 shall apply.

    CHANGE OF MIND

    We do not offer refunds for change of mind once furniture has been installed. We do not revise quotes if furniture has been delivered but not used. Please ensure you read over the proposal before accepting.

    REFUNDS

    Refunds are not provided in the following circumstances:

    • The property sells before the end of the initial rental contract, and the order is collected early.

    • Change of mind.

    • Items are returned early or on the day of delivery.

    FURNITURE RETURNS / SWAPS

    We reserve the right to refuse unreasonable furniture swap requests based on personal preference. We are happy to swap furniture if it is damaged (e.g. major cracks or chips).

    If the client changes their mind upon delivery and requests a swap, a fee starting from $150 will apply. Re-delivery of the replacement item will be subject to our team’s next availability. No refunds apply for change of mind.

    ADDING FURNITURE

    Any additional furniture pieces will be charged per item, plus delivery and installation fees.

    INSTALLATIONS / DELIVERIES

    The Dutch Stylist will provide an indicative delivery window, typically two hours, between 8:00am and 3:00pm.

    Please do not schedule property photography on the same day as installation, as completion times can vary and are not guaranteed.

    The client is responsible for providing access to the delivery team and preparing the property for installation. This includes:

    • Removing unwanted items from rooms and access paths.

    • Ensuring all trades and cleaning are completed prior.

    • Ensuring the site is safe and walls are dry.

    • If applicable, the lift is booked for the installation

    The Dutch Stylist will not move items that do not belong to us and may refuse delivery if obstructions prevent safe access. If our team does move non-Dutch Stylist items, no responsibility is taken for damage.

    If delivery or collection cannot proceed due to site readiness or safety concerns, a fee of $800 will apply.

    For OH&S reasons, our delivery team must wear shoes while carrying goods in and out of the property.

    COLLECTIONS

    The client is solely responsible for booking the collection of The Dutch Stylist stock. We do not automatically collect items at the contract expiry date.

    The client must phone or email to book the collection at least five (5) business days prior to expiry. If the contract is not extended and no collection is booked, rental charges will continue on a weekly basis.

    Please note:

    • Access to the property must be provided for collection.

    • A lead time of up to two (2) weeks may apply.

    • Additional fees may apply for urgent collections.

    We kindly request that you notify our team when the property has sold so we can arrange collection.

    ART / MIRROR HANGING

    We offer art and mirror hanging services. Please note:

    • Permanent wall anchors will be used.

    • Client must obtain owner’s consent prior to installation.

    • We are not liable for wall damage or make-good works.

    We will not hang art that does not belong to The Dutch Stylist.

    If the client or a third party hangs art/mirrors, no modifications may be made to our items. Art must be hung:

    • Via string (if already strung), or

    • Via existing hooks/rings (if not strung).

    Sticky hooks are strictly not allowed. Permanent wall anchors must be used.

    TIPS

    We recommend taking digital photos of each styled room for easy reference when resetting for inspections, photos, videos, or marketing materials.
